About the Author
Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati (1924-1999) succeeded Nataraja Guru as head of the Narayana Gurukula in 1973. A poet, philosopher, mystic and psychologist, he accepted Nataraja Guru as his spiritual preceptor in 1951 and spent decades translating and writing commentaries on the major Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the works of Narayana Guru and Nataraja Guru.
He taught psychology, philosophy, yoga sastra and aesthetics at universities including Portland State, Stanford, Sonoma State and the University of Hawaii, and lectured widely across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. He published over 120 books in Malayalam and 80 in English, and served as chairperson of the East-West University of Unitive Sciences.
